Associated Insurance Brokers was established in Sandton in 1983 by founder Neil Graham. Known in the marketplace as AIB we are a well-established and highly successful short-term insurance broking company located in Johannesburg, South Africa.
In 2005, whilst retaining its trading name, it became part of the i capital Group. The registered company name is now i capital Risk Services (Pty) Ltd t/a Associated Insurance Brokers (AIB).
AIB’s central focus is the handling of all classes of short-term corporate, commercial, industrial, property, domestic, household and motor insurance.
Business is placed with most of the local insurance companies or niche underwriting agencies.
AIB’s Jewellers Block and Art division is the acknowledged local specialist insurance broker to the diamond, jewellery and art markets. Policies are placed with Lloyd’s of London via Open Market correspondent arrangements and with the specialist local insurance markets.
AIB’s portfolio encompasses well-known retail, wholesale and manufacturing jewellers, diamond cutters and dealers, tender houses, refineries, art dealers and art galleries, private art collections and auction houses.

AIB is an authorised financial service provider (Licence No 19819), a member of FIA – the Financial Intermediaries Association of South Africa and is an Open Market correspondent for Brokers at Lloyd’s of London.
